Focusing on techniques and drills one can practice on their own, our SkillBuilders are intended to provide shooters with more advanced skills to protect themselves and loved ones in defensive shooting encounters. We spend about an hour in classroom instruction, then about an hour on range running various drills. Most SkillBuilders are linked to a Drill Nite class the following month where shooters participate in more advanced drills focused on the same subject. The series culminates every 6 months in a shoot house scenario that embodies the last 5 skills we learned and practiced together.

This month’s topic is yet to be determined.

For this class you will need:

  1. Ear and eye protection
  2. A handgun and holster with which YOU ARE EASILY PROFICIENT
  3. 2 magazines
  4. Approximately 100-150 rounds of ammunition
  5. A mag holder is recommended

HOLSTER DRAW PREREQUISITE:

This class requires holster draw proficiency. If you have not taken a SkillBuilder class in the last year, have our safety officer assess your holster draw skills. If he approves you, direct the sales counterperson to note on your account that you are approved. You are now eligible to enroll in all our SkillBuilder and Drill Nite classes!

All students must use a strong-side, OUTSIDE-the-waistband (OWB) leather or kydex belt holster that fits and retains your handgun and COMPLETELY covers the trigger guard (ABSOLUTELY NO inside-the-waistband, soft fabric, appendix, Blackhawk Serpa, small-of-the-back, cross-draw, shoulder or deep-concealment holsters i.e. flash bangs).
