Special orders available, if order is placed with us there is no transfer fee (Excludes NFA items).
3rd Party Received Transfer Fees: $50 non-members, $35 Standard and Patriot members, $30 Premium members, $25 Premium Plus members.
NFA Transfer Fees: $150 per serial number for most NFA items (Silencers, SBRs, SBSs) – $200 per serial number for machine guns.
Remember to bring your physical current drivers license; if your address on your driver’s license is not current, please bring a government-issued proof of current address such as a city utility bill, car registration, or voter ID card.
As well as your Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit Card if you have one.

Service Charges for Transfers / Storage of items
- Long Guns / Handguns / Receivers.
- Fee(s): $50.00 for each Serialized item
- NFA / Class III fee(s) $150.00 for each serialized item for non-members
- Items not picked up after 30 calendar days will incur a monthly storage fee of $25.00 per transferable item(s), starting on the 31st day and each month thereafter with a minimum one-month charge. Prescott Shooting Range and Gun Club will not transfer an item until any applicable storage fees have been paid. After 90 days, items not picked up will be considered abandoned property unless prior arrangements have been made with Prescott Shooting Range and Gun Club (see Abandoned Product/Product Ownership section below)
Picking Up Your Firearm:
Once Prescott Shooting Range and Gun Club has contacted you, please come into the shop in person at your earliest convenience. Bring your current ID with current address and full name including your middle name if applicable.
Transferee Must Be at least 18 years old to receive long gun(s) or at least 21 years old to receive handgun(s) or other firearms (including receivers/frames). Firearms Will Not be transferred to underage people. Prescott Shooting Range and Gun Club will Not transfer firearms to anyone other than the person designated on the invoice from the shipper. In the event that a transfer order is incorrect or a transferee is ineligible or unable to complete the transfer, Prescott Shooting Range and Gun Club is not responsible for returns/refunds or return shipping. The purchaser is responsible for contacting the shipper and making all necessary arrangements for the return!
- Transferee will present their valid government issued identification – ID, Driver’s License, Military Transit Papers, Passport, Etc. Presented ID must be legible and unaltered, not be expired and contain current address.
- Transferee will be asked to complete, sign, and date an ATF form 4473 to perform the regulated Federal background check in order to dispose of firearms.
- Transferee for handguns must be a Arizona resident.
Prescott Shooting Range and Gun Club will process and submit form 4473, conducting FBI Federal background check called NICS. Once processed, NICS will issue a status. The following conditions apply.
- PROCEED – If PROCEED option is issued; once transfer fee(s) are paid in full, you will receive your firearm(s).
- DELAYED – If DELAYED option is issued; NICS was unable to complete the background check at that time. Prescott Shooting Range and Gun Club will contact transferee once a final response has been received from NICS. If we do not receive a final response from NICS within 7 business days, the Transferee can pick up their firearm after that time. Depending on age, delays may be an additional delay of up to 10 days. If we receive a final response from NICS within that time period, we will call the transferee and advise them of the final status.
- DENIED – If DENIED option is issued; Transferee will not receive product(s); however, transfer fee(s) are still accessed along with any additional fee(s). Prescott Shooting Range and Gun Club is not responsible for returns/refunds or return shipping in these cases, though we can facilitate the return of the item to the seller once the seller and transferee have agreed to terms.
Abandoned Product/Product Ownership:
Once a firearm transfer is received by Prescott Shooting Range and Gun Club , the company will make reasonable attempts to contact the transferee. If transferee does not claim product or contact Prescott Shooting Range and Gun Club to make other arrangements within 30 calendar days, or if the product(s) cannot be transferred due to NICS delay/denial, Prescott Shooting Range and Gun Club may choose to ship the product back to the sender via COD. The COD amount will include any transfer fee(s), rescheduling fee(s), shipping and handling fee(s) – minimum $50.00 per item. If the sender does not accept the package, does not pay the COD amount, or the package is returned to Prescott Shooting Range and Gun Club for whatever reason, the product(s) will become property of Prescott Shooting Range and Gun Club after a total of 90 days from the original date it was received. The transferee will not receive payment for the product’s value, and the product(s) ownership and any value held is then transferred to Prescott Shooting Range and Gun Club , which may dispose the firearm at its discretion.
