Prescott Gun Club has announced that on June 3, Pete and Valerie Fowler finalized the purchase of Prescott Gun Club from Don and Elizabeth Grier.  The Fowlers were previously the owners of Prescott Pete’s Mobile Shooting Gallery that conducted mobile shooting events in Prescott and other cities throughout Arizona. Prescott Gun Club, located at 1200 W Iron Springs Road opened in 2014 as Prescott’s first and only indoor shooting range.

“We had been searching for months for an established local business to be our new full-time focus,” said Pete Fowler. Their commercial realtor Raymond Zogob reached out to Prescott Gun Club. While the business was not listed for sale, Don and Elizabeth were receptive to the business plan presented by the Fowlers to take Prescott Gun Club to the next level and increase the experiences available to Prescott Gun Club’s shooters.

“We were impressed with the first-rate facility, staff, and reputation of PGC,” said the Fowlers. “As members ourselves, we had spent plenty of time there since 2014 and have immersed ourselves in the business, training classes, facility and getting to know the staff.”

While the Fowlers will be introducing new classes, events, marketing and promotional campaigns, they want current members and customers to know that nothing will change for them regarding their membership program (that provides significant discounts similar to a gym membership), upcoming classes, events or in-store benefits such as the “try before you buy” program. “Prescott Gun Club has always catered to groups who host safe and organized shooting events, and we will continue to support that. Starting with the existing calendar, we will provide even more opportunities for shooters to increase their skills in a fun, safe environment.” Regulars will also be happy to know that Don and Elizabeth will still continue to instruct and will be lifetime members and regular users of the range.

The Fowlers plan a slight branding change to the Prescott Gun Club name and logo, modifying the name to the Prescott Shooting Range and Gun Club to let newcomers and tourists know that the range is open to the public. “Our professional background is in business ownership, training and marketing, so we will also revamp the website so that people can more easily get a full picture of all that the Range has to offer.”

“Another thing that impressed us,” says Valerie Fowler, “is that the staff are all NRA-certified Range Safety Officers and Pistol Instructors and there is always a Range Safety Officer on the range to insure the safety of the customers. We received our NRA Pistol Instructor and Range Safety Officer certifications and have increased our skill level through the training and knowledge provided by Prescott Gun Club. Equally impressive is the culture of customer service that caters equally to all proficiency levels. Someone who has never held a gun can take private lessons, group classes, rent or purchase a gun, and begin a journey that can lead all the way to instructor-level proficiency if they like. An expert shooter can shoot at the Quad Cities’ only 25-yard (75-foot) indoor range with its sophisticated Meggitt range system and challenge themselves with advanced classes. Our building and air handling equipment was custom built for optimum air circulation. We also have an extra-wide wheelchair-accessible shooting lane.”

“And like Prescott Gun Club, Prescott Shooting Range supports our law enforcement and military.  Prescott Shooting Range is working with local law enforcement to be sure our officers have a safe environment to train and qualify in a fully tactical 25-yard range when the weather does not cooperate.”

One of the things the Fowlers are looking forward to most is getting to know Prescott Gun Club’s existing members and shooters as well as welcoming new shooters. “Prescott Pete’s Shooting Gallery was a great avenue to meet people, and we are looking forward to becoming a bigger part of the community and getting to know the incredible PGC family that Don, Elizabeth, and the staff have fostered and to welcome new locals and visitors into that family.
